SOLARBAN® 67

Solar Control Low-e Glass

Stream daylight in, keep solar heat out for year-round comfort in any climate.

SOLARBAN® 67 Solar Control Low-e Glass

There’s a completely new vision in transparent solar control, low-e window glass for your home. Solarban 67 glass, the latest addition to the Solarban family of products, is made with a soft, virtually imperceptible, neutral coating that lets your windows accurately reflect exterior light and color, while presenting a crisp, clear outdoor appearance.

Solarban 67 glass adds brawn to its beauty, too. In the summer, it blocks more than 70 percent of the sun’s radiant heat energy when used in a standard ¾-inch, dual-pane residential window. In the winter, excellent insulating performance – signified by U-value of 0.25 –helps trap furnace heat. Combined, this performance contributes to year-round energy savings.

Glass Comparison

Solarban 67 insulating glass unit vs. standard insulating glass unit
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient
Visible Light
Ultraviolet Energy
Winter Furnace Heat
Standard Insulating Glass Unit Solarban® 67 Insulating Glass Unit Benefits
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient 0.75 0.29 Transmits 63% less solar energy to help keep homes cooler in the summer and reduce cooling energy costs
Visible Light Transmittance 81% 55% Allows high level of visible light transmittance and exterior clear glass appearance
U-Value 0.48 0.25 Insulates as much as 48% better than standard clear insulating glass
Ultraviolet Energy 58% 13% Blocks 45% of UV energy, a common contributor to fabrics, carpet and furniture fading
Damage Weighted Transmittance * 0.74 0.41 Minimizes the total potential for fading damage by 45%
*Damage Weighted Transmittance is calculated according to a function called Tdw-ISO, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO) and published by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), the world’s leading technical organization on lighting and illumination. The Tdw-ISO calculation measures fading risk from solar radiation across the entire solar light spectrum, from UV light (280-380 nanometers) through visible light (390-780 nanometers). According to the CIE standard, which is considered more comprehensive than UV rating alone, Solarban 70XL glass can minimize fading damage across the entire solar spectrum more effectively than glass designed primarily to block UV light.
